Piezo Actuator from General Photonics

The FST-002 is a Piezoactuator based very fast optical path scanner with a scan range up to 18mm at a resonant frequency of about 2kHz.

It is based on General Photonics patented fiber stretching technology. This component provides a large scan range at low driver voltages up to about 90V.

If a frequency smaller than the resonant frequency is applied, a total scanning range of up to 4 mm can be achieved with a maximum drive voltage of 150 V.

The fiber stretcher is built into a specially designed housing to minimize the noise level caused by the piezoactuators. This patented component can be controlled with commercially available piezo drivers such as General Photonics PCD-001.

The FST-002 is suitable for applications in sensor technology, medical imaging, fiber optic interfrometry, optical coherence tomography (OCT) and spectral analysis.
