Sophisticated laser welding processes can be realized with the ILV-LS line scanner. The constant development of lasers for material processing leads to the constant improvement of the beam quality and thus ever smaller focus diameters at high powers. For laser welding applications, a high brilliance beam source also has disadvantages, e.g. in the welding of joints with gap or position tolerances in the range of 100 μm and more. Using a highly dynamic beam guidance in the form of the ILV-LS line scanner, the advantages of expensive, high-quality laser sources for such applications can be fully exploited.
