About Laser 2000

Foundation

Laser 2000 was founded in Munich in 1986 by Armin Luft.
The objective in setting up the company was to offer the customer the most innovative "optical technologies" products of leading providers around the world from a single source.
Laser 2000 is serving European research laboratories and industries involved in photonics for more than 25 years, and has extended its sales force across Europe with sister companies in U.K., France, BeNeLux, Spain and Sweden. The Laser 2000 range of offers is characterized by a high standard of innovation and excellent reliability.

Continuous Growth

Following strong and steady growth, connected with several site changes, the foundation stone for the company’s own building was laid in the "Argelsrieder Feld" technology park in Wessling near Munich. In addition to modern, up-to-the-minute office premises, intensive work was also dedicated to providing fully equipped application and demonstration laboratories and seminar rooms for product and customer training.

Proximity

The proximity to renowned research institutions like the Fraunhofer Institute and the DLR (Deutsche Luft und Raumfahrt – German Aerospace Industries Association) makes it possible to test the industrial compatibility of new products immediately and in practical application.

In addition to the head offices in Wessling near Munich, the company also has sites in Berlin, Dresden, Mönchengladbach and Chemnitz.

Internationalization

In order to stay abreast of the trend towards globalization, since the beginning of the 1990’s the company has established overseas bases in France, Switzerland, Great Britain, Belgium, Holland and Sweden, with further subsidiaries in the preparation stage.

Laser 2000 today ranks among the leading internationally active providers of "optical technologies".
