Alignment and Position Sensing

General

Optical position sensing detectors are ideal for contact-free measurement of positions and angles. They are used in many areas like life sciences, industry, control engineering and quality assurance. Typical applications are adjustment and alignment of lasers and the automated detection and tracking of machine elements. Contact-free position sensing techniques are fast, free of abrasion and avoid feedback on the object under investigation. Even very small objects and liquids can be measured. A large distance prevents the position detectors from being damaged by high temperatures or aggressive chemicals. The position sensing detectors used here show excellent resolution, accuracy and reliability. They work in the near infrared wavelength range (Si photodiodes; up to approx. 1100 nm). Laser 2000 offers a wide range of position sensing detectors and measurement systems as well as optical accessories for various applications.193

Analog Position Sensing

These systems consist of so-called lateral effect detectors (4x4 or 9x9 mm) and a fast analogue position measurement amplifier. They can be used for all positioning and adjustment applications where fast data acquisition in the kHz range is essential. The amplifier is embedded in an external housing and can therefore be easily integrated in other systems. Both serial and USB 2.0 interfaces are available.

Angle Measurement Systems

The AngleMeter measurement systems are compact and flexible solutions for measuring and monitoring of angle differences. A broad variety of sensors, interfaces, lenses allows an adaptation to nearly any laser type and measurement geometry.

Kombinierte Justagesysteme (Position-Winkel)

These systems are based on the well-established 2-channel position measurement systems. However, the sensor head consists of two lateral effect detectors, a calibrated beam splitter and integrated optics. By means of this a simultaneous measurement of position and angle is realized. The field of applications spans from the adjustment of lasers to general quality assurance applications.
